A little about me. I am a Vietnam veteran and I served in a harbor defense unit at Cam Ranh Bay beginning in 1970. After military service I worked for 24 years in various administrative positions in Career/Technical Education at the Kent Intermediate School District. Beginning a second career, I clerked for Judge Lawrence Root at the 49th Circuit Court, worked for the city attorney in Big Rapids, was in private practice for three years, and then began working as an attorney for Ferris State University in 2007. I am still working for the University on a part-time basis. Until 2012, I taught education law classes for Western Michigan University as an adjunct instructor. I have degrees from Calvin University, Western Michigan University, and Cooley Law School.
